Vaa Vaathiyaar Box Office Collection Day 7: Karthi Starrer Action Comedy Film Faces Steep Decline In Earnings
Vaa Vaathiyaar Box Office Collection: Vaa Vaathiyaar, the Tamil action-comedy starring Karthi, has completed its first seven days at the domestic box office. The film, which hit theaters on January 14, 2026, as a Pongal release, entered its eighth day in cinemas today, January 21. According to estimates reported by Sacnilk, the film has collected approximately ₹8.32 crore India net during its first week.

Directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, Vaa Vaathiyaar arrived in theaters after several delays marked by legal and financial hurdles. Its release during the festive window placed it alongside several other holiday films, making the Pongal frame a competitive one at the box office.
The film opened with ₹1.65 crore on its first day, followed by an increase on Thursday, when collections rose to ₹2.35 crore. However, momentum slowed from Friday onward. Day 3 saw earnings dip to ₹1.55 crore, while Saturday and Sunday brought in ₹1.45 crore and ₹0.7 crore, respectively. The downward trend continued into the weekdays, with Monday collecting ₹0.38 crore and Tuesday adding an estimated ₹0.24 crore, based on early tracking. By the end of Day 7, the total stood at ₹8.32 crore.
While the film benefited initially from the festive opening, weekday footfalls declined sharply once the holiday period concluded. Such patterns are not uncommon during festive periods, when audience attention is divided across multiple titles.
