Meet Actress Mokksha: The trailer of Gatta Kusthi 2, starring Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi, has generated discussion ahead of the film's theatrical release on July 3, 2026. While the sequel has drawn attention for continuing the franchise's blend of sports, romance and comedy, another talking point following the trailer launch on June 28 has been actress Mokksha, who appears in the role of a teacher.

Following the trailer's release, many viewers have become curious about the actress and her career. Here's a closer look at Mokksha and her career so far.
Mokksha, whose birth name is Pritha Sengupta, is an actress and trained classical dancer from Barrackpore in West Bengal. Before entering films, she balanced academics and work, earning a degree in Psychology while also teaching at a school in her hometown. In addition to classroom teaching, she also conducted dance classes, reflecting her long-standing training in Indian classical dance forms including Bharatanatyam, Kathak and Odissi.
She began her acting career in the Bengali film industry, initially taking up supporting roles before landing lead characters. Over time, she expanded her work beyond Bengali cinema and entered multiple South Indian film industries, gradually building a multilingual filmography.
Her Tamil debut came with Yevaal, while she entered Telugu cinema with Lucky Lakshman. She later appeared in Telugu projects including Neethone Nenu, I Hate You, Alanaati Ramchandrudu, and Ramam Raghavam. In Malayalam cinema, she made her debut with Kallanum Bhagavathiyum, followed by the horror film Chithini. Apart from films, Mokksha has also been part of the Bengali web series Rawkto Bilaap.
Outside acting, Mokksha has occasionally been in the public eye for reasons beyond cinema. In 2024, a dance performance she presented in Kolkata as part of a public protest following the Kolkata rape and murder case received significant attention on social media, bringing her into wider public discussion.
Now, she is set to appear in Gatta Kusthi 2, where she plays a teacher. Although the trailer offers only a glimpse of her character, it has been enough to generate curiosity among audiences ahead of the film's release.

According to the makers, the sequel revolves around Veera, a stay-at-home husband whose family life is challenged by misunderstandings and social expectations. Like its predecessor, the film incorporates elements of wrestling into its narrative while combining family drama, romance and comedy.
The film is jointly produced by Vels Film International and Vishnu Vishal Studioz, with Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh and Vishnu Vishal serving as producers. The music has been composed by Sean Roldan, while KM Bhaskaran handles cinematography and Barath Vikraman is the editor.
With Gatta Kusthi 2 scheduled to arrive in theatres on July 3, the trailer has also brought additional attention to Mokksha, whose appearance as the teacher has become one of the early talking points ahead of the film's release.
