Radhan Pandit Vettrivel OSD Appointment: Days after C. Joseph Vijay assumed office as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, attention has shifted to one of the people believed to have played a key advisory role during his political journey, astrologer and spiritual mentor Radhan Pandit Vettrivel.

According to a report published by India Today, Vettrivel has now been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (Political) to the Chief Minister. The development comes shortly after Vijay's swearing-in ceremony and has generated discussion in political as well as social circles in Tamil Nadu.

Who Is Radhan Pandit Vettrivel?

Vettrivel, who has reportedly been associated with Vijay for several years, is known in Tamil Nadu for his work in astrology and spiritual consultation. Reports suggest that he had been advising the TVK leader during crucial political moments, including around the time of the Assembly elections and government formation process.

One of the developments that drew public attention recently was the reported change in timing for Vijay's swearing-in ceremony. Vijay had initially planned to take oath as Chief Minister on May 10 at 3:45 pm. However, the timing was later shifted to 10 am. According to India Today's report, the revised timing was reportedly chosen based on Vettrivel's recommendation regarding an auspicious "muhurat".

The astrologer's association with prominent political personalities is not entirely new. Over the years, several leaders in Tamil Nadu politics have reportedly consulted him. The report also stated that former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa had allegedly sought his advice on important occasions during her tenure.

Apart from his political connections, Vettrivel is also active on social media, where he shares astrological observations and related content. He has reportedly spent decades in the field and is regarded by followers as a known figure in Tamil Nadu's spiritual and astrology circles.

The report further claimed that Vettrivel had predicted Vijay's electoral success well before the Tamil Nadu Assembly election results were declared. TVK eventually emerged as the single largest party in the state by winning 108 seats in the 234-member Assembly. Although the party did not cross the majority mark on its own, support from Congress, VCK and other allies helped Vijay stake claim to form the government.

Political observers have also noted that Vettrivel was among the early visitors to congratulate Vijay after the election results. His appointment as Officer on Special Duty has since triggered conversations.

Vijay is currently preparing to face a floor test in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on May 13 to formally establish the majority of his coalition government.
