Prathi Gnayiru 9 Manimuthal 10.30 Varai, as the title suggests, is about an incident that happened one Sunday between 9 and 10.30 a.m.. Director Anbu, one-time associate director of Bharathiraja, has come up with a unique and different thriller theme.

The crux of the story is of a woman taking revenge on those who have spoiled her life. Poornitha plays the female lead role. Suresh, who made his debut as second hero in the movie Kadhalum Katru Mara, stars opposite Poornitha.

The gist of the story is:
A gang of playboys who are friends, mistake Kalyani (Poornitha) to be a call-girl, and forcibly gang-rape her. When they come to know the truth, they lose no time in making themselves scarce. Suresh (Suresh), Remo (Karunas), Murugan (Balaji) and Seetharamam ( Ravi ) are that gang of friends.

Suresh, by the compulsion of his father (Delhi Ganesh), marries a girl who is his distant relation. Only after marriage he realizes that his wife resembles Kalyani. The rest of the story is the sequence of events and manner in which revenge is taken by Kalyani.

Anbu has tried to deliver a message to the audience. If he could have dealt with less of glamour, the message may have reached the audience. Poornitha had given life to her character. Suresh, Karunas and others have played their part very well. Background music supports the revenge theme.
