Laadam - Review

By Super Admin

Prabhu Solomon, the director known for his different treatment of a normal plot in Kokki and Lee has come up with his third film Laadam. But this time his attempt seems very much aimless. Right from the first scene of the movie the director has failed to grab the attention of the viewers. One can easily understand the confusion of the director in classifying the film as an action oriented one or a comical action thriller.

Pavadai (Kota Srinivasa Rao) and Vembuli (Jayaprakash) are sworn enemies residing in the neighbouring houses. They adamantly refuse to meet each other because of the astrologer's threat. So they always fight through their paid goons.

When Pavadai's son is killed akin to the desi mafia style, he plans revenge. Within 16 days, he wants Vembuli's son dead, and the task is assigned to Kunjithapatham alias Karappanpoochi (Aravindhan), an MCA graduate who has come to Chennai to join in an IT company. One day Kunjithapatham gives an idea to Pavadai for killing Vebuli's son.

Sudenly the hero then runs into Angel (Charmi), who, apart from making locked houses her home, spends all her time badly miming old heroes, heroines and films.

Hanging out with her and getting lobbed into both camps alternately, Kunjithapatham has a hazardous journey (for the viewers too!).

Performance wise, the new comer 'Karappan Poochi' is far better than sexy Charmi. But the real scorer is Kota Sreenivsa Rao!

Songs and background music are poor and not even up to a new comer's mark.

Verdict: Average
