It
is
a
big
day
in
the
life
of
Sathya,
whose
debut
Tamil
movie
Amara
Kaaviyam
is
releasing
today
(September
5).
The
movie
is
bankrolled
by
his
elder
brother
and
actor
Arya.
The
film
is
directed
by
Jeeva
Shankar
and
as
the
title
suggests
the
film
belongs
to
romantic
genre.
Arya
has
left
no
stone
unturned
to
make
Amara
Kaaviyam
a
talk
of
the
town.
He
wants
to
give
a
perfect
launch
for
Sathya
and
he
has
done
his
best.
From
bringing
in
big
names
to
the
audio
launch
to
innovative
promotions,
the
actor-turned-producer
has
put
in
best
efforts
to
make
the
film
successful.
Amara
Kaaviyam
is
not
set
in
the
days
of
smart
phones
era
rather
when
people
expressed
their
love
purely
through
letters.
The
story
is
set
in
80s
and
it
is
about
first
love.
The
story
mainly
banks
on
the
feelings
of
the
teenage
attractions
like
the
adrenaline
rush
while
talking
to
your
crush
the
first
time,
the
secret
glances
and
shy
smile.
The
story
is
inspired
from
a
real
life
experience
of
director
Jeeva
Shankar.
Sathya
plays
the
role
of
Jeeva
and
Mia
George
will
be
seen
in
the
character
of
his
love
interest
named
Karthika.
It
has
Ghibran's
music,
which
has
left
a
good
impact
on
the
audience,
and
Suriya's
editing.
The
director
himself
has
taken
the
responsibility
of
the
cinematography
department.
Now,
let
us
see
what
the
movie
has
to
offer.

Rating:
2.5/5
As
I
mentioned
above,
Amara
Kaaviyam
is
set
before
the
internet
age.
Jeeva
and
Karthika
are
in
love
since
their
childhood
days.
What
made
them
fond
of
each
other?
The
director
has
not
answered
it.
Too
much
of
liberty
taken
by
the
story
writer
has
not
helped
the
cause.
Like
in
a
usual
story,
the
hero
does
not
propose
his
love
for
his
leading
lady
but
it
is
vice-versa
in
this
case.
In
fact,
the
heroine
reveals
her
love
to
him
when
he
tells
her
that
his
friend
is
in
love
with
her.
Their
struggle
to
cope
up
with
their
emotions
forms
the
remaining
part
of
the
story.
Story
Analysis
The
first
half
has
nothing
much
to
offer
and
only
the
teenage
infatuation
scenes
episodes
have
been
heavily
loaded
in
the
narration.
The
second
half
has
some
story
to
tell.
Hero's
Performance
It
is
the
second
movie
of
Sathya
after
Puthagam.
He
looks
cute
and
makes
good
impact.
He
emotes
well
as
a
short-tempered
teenager.
Heroine's
Performance
Full
marks
to
Mia
George,
who
has
come
out
with
flying
colours.
She
is
promising
and
way
to
go.
Other
Departments
The
biggest
place
point
of
the
movie
is
the
music
scored
by
Ghibran.
His
background
score
gives
life
even
to
those
dull
moments
in
the
movie.
Cinematography
by
director
Jeeva
Shankar
is
nothing
short
of
brilliance.
However,
the
director
has
failed
in
churning
out
a
poignant
screenplay.
Verdict:
Verdict:
The
pace
of
the
movie
and
below-mark
narration
make
Amara
Kaaviyam
from
becoming
a
masterpiece
as
claimed
by
the
makers
of
the
movie!
