Aarathu
Sinam
Plot:
A
sincere
police
officer,
played
by
Arulnithi,
turns
into
an
alcoholic
after
helplessly
watching
his
wife
and
daughter,
murdered
by
his
adversaries.
When
his
mother
and
younger
brother
slip
into
anxiety
by
deducing
that
he
might
end
up
a
dipsomaniac
for
the
rest
of
his
life,
his
superior
officer
requests
him
to
take
up
a
case.
After
much
of
pestering
by
his
mother
and
others,
he
takes
up
the
case,
which
has
to
do
with
the
disappearance
and
murder
of
young
married
men.
Will
he
be
able
to
stop
the
serial
killer
on
the
prowl
while
being
an
alcoholic?
Is
there
a
connection
between
this
case
and
the
brutal
murder
of
his
family?
Watch
Aarathu
Sinam
in
a
theatre
to
unlock
the
answers.
Performances:
Arulnithi
has
underplayed
his
role
to
perfection.
It
shouldn't
come
across
as
a
surprise
if
many
calls
this
performance
his
best
till
date.
Though
Aishwarya
Rajesh
doesn't
have
much
to
prove
in
this
flick,
the
Kaaka
Muttai
actress
looks
absolutely
gorgeous
whenever
she
appears
on
the
big
screen.
Supporting
actors
like
Radharavi,
Tulasi
and
Robo
Shankar
are
impressive
with
their
credible
performances.
Technicalities:
Aarathu
Sinam
is
technically
brilliant
and
adds
to
the
overall
cinematic
experience.
Though
the
movie
takes
time
in
establishing
its
characters
(first
30
minutes),
it
manages
to
keep
you
guessing
throughout.
Second
half
is
a
real
treat
as
it
lives
up
to
the
movie's
reputation
of
being
a
crime
thriller.
Having
said
that
comical
portions
hinder
the
overall
pace
of
Aarathu
Sinam.
Music
by
Thaman
is
a
major
positive.
His
background
score
is
top-notch
as
it
elevates
the
tension
to
a
good
extent.
Not
to
mention,
it
also
adds
stability
to
the
movie.
Cinematography
by
Aravinnd
Singh
is
yet
another
positive
of
Aarathu
Sinam.
His
angles
are
refreshingly
good
and
the
visuals
are
as
slick
as
it
can
get.
Overall
View:
Overall,
Aarathu
Sinam
is
an
honest
attempt
by
director
Arivazhagan,
who
does
full
justice
to
a
tried
and
tested
script.
