Written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, Surya Son Of Krishnan is the Telugu dubbing version of Vaaranam Aayiram, a cult film that was released back in 2008, on November 14.

After 15 years, Suriya-starrer hit the big screens in a modified and technologically upgraded version for Telugu fans. The movie was re-released on August 4 in the Telugu states to houseful shows.

The re-release of Surya Son Of Krishnan is now celebrated all over the Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu states. Several fan pages of Suriya from Tamil Nadu are requesting the re-release of Vaaranam Aayiram after the response and euphoria that the Telugu version's re-release is demanding.

The movie charts the journey of Surya, an Indian Army Major, who learns about his father's death when he was on a rescue mission. The story then starts as Surya reminisces about his bonding with his father, his struggles as a teenager, and a phase through which he undergoes heartbreak. How he grapples with life and now settles down as a responsible person for his family and the country.
