Vaathi

Directed by Telugu film director Venky Atluri, the movie "Vaathi" starring Dhanush, Samyuktha, Samuthirakani, Ken Karunas, Mottai Rajendran is released worldwide today in two languages, Tamil and Telugu. GV Prakashkumar has composed the music for the film.

In the early 1990s, the privatization policy came into force in India. Realizing the purpose of business development of education like medicine, engineering, private schools are opening coaching centers for entrance exams and buying well-qualified school teachers. This results in closing government schools. The government is planning to bring a fee regulation rule and impose a check on private schools to spark public protests to open closed government schools.

Knowing this, Samuthirakani, who becomes the leader of the federation, announces that he will adopt government schools and provide education to all. He wants to spoil education by sending second and third grade teachers from private schools to the closed government schools. Dhanush is a well-intentioned teacher who wants education to reach everyone. Did the students in the town where Dhanush went get education? Or Samuthirakani's wish come true? The movie "Vaathi" tells this in a way that tests patience.

Dhanush, who plays Balamurugan, carries the film as a one-man army. In the beginning, those who think that the film is going to expose all the illegal activities of private schools in the education sector are a bit disappointed. Every scene seems to be staged without much impact.

Samyukta Menon, who plays the role of Meenakshi, does not have much of a character. But she makes you enjoy in the vaa vathi song. Whereas the whole movie looks like Telugu cinema making style. So people who go to see the movie in Tamilnadu will not be able to relate to the story. Samuthirakani's menacing villain acting is missing in this.

Vaa Vaathi and Nadodi Mannan songs are enjoyable in GV Prakashkumar's music. Other songs do not match with the film. The background music is good at some places. Although the story is good, director Venky Atluri failed to execute it with a proper screenplay.

All in all "Vaathi" is a Telugu speaking Tamil movie!
