Versatile and multi-talented actor from Kollywood, Dhanush, who had a successful 2022 with back-to-back acclaimed films, is all set to make his Telugu debut with Tollywood writer-director Venky Atluri's outing titled Vaathi/Sir. The movie, shot as a bilingual stars Samyuktha as the female lead. Vaathi/Sir hit the screens on February 17 all over the world.

Vaathi follows the story of Balamurugan/Bala Gangadhar Tilak, a third-grade junior lecturer at a college in Tirupati. In the institute, Bala stands against the unethical and improper practices that depict education as business, depriving the students.

Vaathi's unit shot extensively in Hyderabad and Chennai from April 2022. The movie's shooting wrapped up in October. J Yuvaraj is the film's cinematographer, and Naveen Nooli is its editor. GV Prakash Kumar composed the film's entire soundtrack and tunes for the film. The music was received positively by the fans and music lovers with the title track 'Vaa Vaathi' topping the FM Radio charts.

The movie is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Saoujanya under the Sithara Entertainments, Srikara Studios, and Fortune Four Cinemas banners.
