Kottukkaali X (Twitter) Review: Soori & Anna Ben's Unique Drama Film Opens Amid Enthusiasm & Good Hype
Kottukkaali X Review & Ratings: Showcased as 'The Adamant Girl' at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival, the movie 'Kottukkaali' was released worldwide in Tamil on August 23 to a positive response from the premieres. Written and directed by P.S. Vinothraj, the movie is a production venture of Sivakarthikeyan under his SK Productions banner in association with The Little Wave Productions.
Kottukkaali opened to great enthusiasm at the box office as Soori and Anna Ben received great applause for their impeccable performances and understanding of the movie's unique narration as much as the film's director Vinothraj is getting. The movie was released amid competiton from 'Vaazhai' which is also enjoying a decent release buzz.
The movie charts the life of Meena (played by Anna Ben) in her Tamil debut. Her characterization is unique in the film and throughout the entire narration, she has only one dialogue, surprisingly. The movie also has no background score at all, which is going to be a refreshing experience while watching the film. When the trailer was dropped recently, it immediately caught the attention of the moviegoers for its premise, set-up and uniqueness.
When Meena stops talking, her family believes that she is under the influence of black magic and her brother Paandi (Soori) then decides to approach people who can drive away the possession.
Before the film was released, the makers organized a special premiere for the Kollywood celebrities and critics who unanimously appreciated the entire film, the technicians, and the movie's story and narration.
