Daya Confirms CID To Go OFF AIR On This Day As 'There Were Issues With The Channel'; Fans Upset!

One of the most loved television shows of India is bearing its end. The fans are devastated to learn that the makers of their favourite crime show CID have decided to pull the plug. Yes, you heard it right! After entertaining the population for more than two decades, actor Dayanand Shetty, who plays the role of Daya on the show, has confirmed the sad new. While talking to Times of India, he revealed that the show is being pulled off air due to certain issues with the channel. He also confirmed as to when we will be witnessing the last episode of the iconic show.
The Show Will End On This Day
One of the prominent actors of CID, Dayanand Shetty while talking to Times of India revealed that the show will be going off air on October 27, 2018. After running for 21 years, the show will end by airing its last episode this week.
There Were Issues With The Channel
Dayanand said, "We were in our 21st year and had we shot for a few more episodes, we would have entered our 22nd year. It is quite an unfortunate thing to happen as we were shooting like always and suddenly we were informed by our producer that the shooting has been called off indefinitely because there were issues with the channel."
'We Are Like A Big Happy Family'
When asked how the news has impacted him, Daya said, "I am going to miss the character, but we feel sad for the audience as they enjoyed the show and it was doing well. The entire cast and crew is very dedicated towards their work and we are like a big happy family. We are going to miss each other as this was our second home."
Fans Are Upset!
Upon the confirmation of the news, fans took to their Twitter handles to express their grief. They said, "This is unfair suddenly end cid #savecid" and "Please do not take away our lives by ending CID like this. CID cannot go off air like this. Please! #saveCID #DoNotEndCID." - (sic)
