Saumya
Says
The
Show
Was
An
Experiment
"Bhabiji
Ghar
Par
Hain!
was
an
experiment
and
I
am
glad
that
it
worked
really
well
with
our
viewers...
well
enough
to
give
it
900
episodes.
It's
heartening
to
know
that
Indian
television
has
a
show
which
is
so
different
as
against
various
comedy
shows
and
unlike
the
typical
'saas-bahu'
genre".
She
Explains
How
Her
Character
Is
Different
"Anita,
unlike
the
sobbing
female
characters
who
are
hit
by
the
pressures
of
their
dominant
'sasural'
or
arrogant
husband,
is
a
very
different,
quirky,
happy,
independent,
overtly
romantic
and
strong
woman."
The
Fans
Appreciated
Female
Dominance
The
actress
said
one
of
the
reasons
why
the
fans
developed
fondness
towards
her
show
was
due
to
the
dominant
female
characters
in
the
show.
"An
audience
that
wasn't
used
to
seeing
such
female
dominant
characters,
appreciated
and
connected
with
her
really
well.
They
are
the
guiding
light
for
many
who
feel
that
sobbing
characters
still
work",
Saumya
said.
She
Empowers
Women
Even
In
Real
Life
Saumya
Tandon
is
not
only
an
amazing
actress,
but
a
good
cook
too.
She
was
once
seen
on
The
Quit,
preparing
gluten-free
pesto
pasta.
While
cooking,
she
also
told
how
she
met
director
Imtiaz
Ali,
whose
movie
she
made
a
debut
in,
Jab
We
Met.
She
played
Kareena's
sister
in
the
movie.
She
Inspires
Fans
By
Using
Local
Trains
The
actress
ditched
her
luxurious
car
to
travel
by
the
local
trains
of
Mumbai.
This
is
what
she
had
to
say,
"Everyday,
I
struggle
to
get
back
home
early,
but
if
I
leave
the
Naigaon
set
at
9
pm
by
car,
I
reach
home
only
by
11
pm.
And
I've
to
leave
again
by
7
am
the
next
day.
The
horrible
traffic
has
forced
me
to
use
public
transport.
I
have
no
issues
traveling
by
train
as
it
takes
lesser
time,
but
I'm
appalled
at
the
condition
of
Mumbai's
lifeline
-
the
trains
are
in
such
bad
condition".
