Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin Exclusive: Kaveri Priyam On Aashika's Similarity To Yeh Hai Mohabbatein's Shagun

Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin recently underwent significant changes when almost the entire cast, including male lead Shakti Arora, left the show, paving the way for a new storyline and cast. However, as the new story unfolds, viewers can't help but notice the uncanny resemblance between the show and Ekta Kapoor's Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. From characters to storyline, it's not wrong to say that Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin indeed drew inspiration from Karan Patel and Divyanka Tripathi's TV show. Kaveri Priyam's character, Aashika, is also seen as very similar to Anita Hassanandani's character, Shagun, from Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, Kaveri Priyam opened up about the constant comparisons of Aashika with Shagun.
When asked about viewers believing that Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin is similar to Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and how her character Aashika resembles Shagun a lot, Kaveri said, ''See, maybe the storyline is similar, but from the few episodes of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein that I have watched, the way that show was shot, the scenes that were written back then, of course the makers of GHKPM have not copied.''
The actress further added, ''Also, times have changed now. I believe a lot has changed - the way we live our real life, situations, the way we react - everything has changed. It's been a long time since Yeh Hai Mohabbatein ended. So, although the storyline and some characteristics are similar, the actors and makers are different, the treatment is different, and hence there can be some similarities, but you certainly can't say that it's exactly the same.'
Talking about Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, the TRPs, which saw a significant drop in the past few weeks, have witnessed growth this week with a rating of 2.1.
