TV Serial on Lord Tirupati Balaji

Mumbai (UNI): Doordarshan will telecast in its national network a mythological mega serial on 'Lord Tirupati Balaji' every day at 0730 hrs featuring live inputs from Tirupati Mandir beginning August, Union Minister of State for Mines Subbarama Reddy said during the Muhurat shot at Doordarshan Kendra here today. Speaking at the function Mr Reddy said, this mega serial will help reach the message and mythology of Lord Venkatesh in great details to northern India where he is called Balaji. About three crore devotees visit the Tirupati Temple which receives Rs 800 crore annually from devotees, the minister said.

Prasar Bharati Chief Executive Officer (CEO) K S Sharma said the Rs 12 crore project will be shared for cost and profit by Tirupati Devasthan Trust and Doordarshan in 65:35 ratio. The serial titled 'Om Namo Vyanketesay' is expected to run more than 365 days continuously creating a record of its own in history of mythological mega serial. It is being directed by Mr Dharmesh Tiwari, and Rajesh Sringarpure and Anuradha Lutharia will play the lead roles of Vishnu and Laxmi.
