She is a computer engineer by qualification, an actress by profession, with numerology and dance as her favourite hobbies. That's Aastha for you, the girl who plays the character of Gunjan, the best friend of the lead character in "Rakhi".

Right at the start of the show, Aastha was disappointed when she was told that its launch had been postponed. But later on, she learnt that the launch was fixed for the day before Rakshabandhan, August 27. Now, that sent her spirits soaring. Guess why? Aastha explains: "I am not that obsessed with numerology, but yes, I feel that 2 and 7 are lucky for me as the numbers are there in my date of birth which is July 20."

Aastha had always wanted to join a profession that would give her creative satisfaction. "I never wanted to do a 9-5 job. Just the thought of it used to irk me. I wanted to do something creative and that's the reason I chose serials. In this field, you get to work on different scripts every day and that's exciting for me."

But aren't serials monotonous after some time? The actress begs to differ: "No, I don't think "Rakhi" is similar to typical saas-bahu serials as it's an energetic show and the audience is liking it."

Being a yoga practitioner, Aastha finds the form of exercise and meditation an easy way to de-stress after her hectic shooting schedules. For recreation, the actress takes to dancing. Once the one-year contract for "Rakhi" gets over, the actress says she would like to experiment with other projects. Given her talent, we are sure there's a whole lot of work waiting for Aastha.
