Bored of the usual saas-bahu sagas? Four new serials with a difference will be on the air from next month with a promise to bring in that much-needed freshness in the arena of television serials. Under the banner of Hats Off Production Pvt Ltd, the serials have storylines that give equal importance to all of their characters, unlike other family dramas.

The first of the serials is "Umeed", followed by the comic "Bhatinda Express", which is about a Punjabi family and its gag bag. The third offering is "Jasuben Jayantilal Ki Joint Family" which revolves around a Gujarati family. The fourth serial, titled "Remote", has an interesting storyline. It is about a television channel, the first few shows of which are miserable disasters. The heavy losses force the channel owners to brainstorm and come up with a unique reality show. They plan to put a camera inside a house, without the knowledge of the resident family. Well, this concept seems to be inspired by the film "Sade Saat Phere".

Those who can't do without their daily dose of melodrama of saas-bahu serials, may not take to the comedies at once. But others would surely lap them up provided the humour is witty and natural.
