Shamita on her new venture
Monday, April 23, 2007
She is an Ex Miss India who unlike others said a strict 'no' to Bollywood. Though it sounds surprising. but Shamita Singha is happy being a wine enthusiast and doing modeling and VJing. In this interview she talks about her latest venture 'Maximum Style' as an anchor on Zoom TV, but gets upset when we ask her about ex-flame Upen Patel. Read on to find out why:
An
ex-Miss
India
Earth
is
a
professional
wine
enthusiast,
a
supermodel,
a
VJ
and
now
an
anchor
on
Zoom
TV.
Why
is
the
actor's
tag
missing?
It
is
because
I
am
not
passionate
about
acting
at
all.
I
don't
do
anything
that
I
am
not
passionate.
I
love
fashion;
I
love
modeling
and
anchoring
live
shows.
Besides
learning
about
wines
is
my
first
love.
Though
modeling
is
a
very
short
lived
career
but
it
depends
how
you
maintain
yourself.
See
Aditi
Gowitrikar,
she
is
a
mother
and
still
doing
shows.
It
sounds
unusual
as
acting
gives
a
lot
of
fame
and
also
big
amount
of
money.
Do
you
have
enough
money
for
your
life?
See,
I
am
a
very
simple
person
who
likes
to
live
a
simple
life.
I
don't
need
too
much
money
for
myself.
However,
I
get
handsomely
paid
whenever
I
attend
wine
workshop.
I
don't
believe
in
an
extravagant
life
as
Bollywood
heroines
do.
You
weren't
seen
on
any
other
channels
apart
from
B4U.
What
are
you
most
passionate
about?
A:
It
was
due
to
an
exclusivity
contract
and
as
I
said
before
I
love
fashion
and
doing
modeling.
Talking
about
your
new
job
as
an
anchor
on
Zoom,
tell
us
what
attracted
you
towards
this?
Well,
I
won't
that
it
is
a
different
show
but
yes
it
is
being
done
in
a
different
way
this
time.
It
will
be
the
first
ever
daily
show
on
television
and
moreover
the
topic
discussed
everyday
will
be
different.
Like
on
Monday
it
is
about
fashion,
on
Tuesday
we
have
beauty
and
lifestyle,
fashion
for
men
and
traveling
will
follow
on
other
weekdays.
I
guess
no
other
show
includes
all
this.
So,
you
will
be
also
giving
tips
to
men
who
want
to
look
smart.
What
according
to
you
makes
a
man
smart?
Well,
in
my
opinion
it
is
basic
hygiene
and
cleanliness
which
makes
a
man
smart.
You
know
what
men
think
that
only
women
should
shampoo
daily.
I
wanna
ask
them
why
a
man
can't
shampoo
his
hair
daily.
Sometimes
they
wear
chappals
while
riding
a
bike
and
get
their
feet
dirty
but
they
won't
go
for
a
pedicure
because
they
feel
it
is
only
for
women.
A
man
also
becomes
smart
by
regular
working
out
and
should
know
how
to
carry
his
clothes
well.
Who
on
earth
you
will
say
is
the
smartest
man?
It
is
definitely
my
dad
who
is
tall
and
very
handsome.
He
has
a
warm
voice
which
appeals
a
lot.
And
what
type
of
man
will
suit
your
choice?
Definitely
he
should
have
the
same
qualities
as
my
father.
Are
you
single
now?
How
true
was
the
controversy
about
you
and
Upen
Patel?
Yes
I
am
single.
(After
a
brief
silence)
Well,
can
we
just
stick
to
the
topic
of
this
interview
which
is
about
my
new
venture
at
present?
Did
he
ever
apologize
after
that?
As
I
said
I
don't
want
to
discuss
about
my
personal
life
or
anything
about
him.
You
are
involved
in
so
many
professions.
How
do
you
take
out
time
for
yourself?
(Feels
comfortable
now).
Well,
for
me
luckily
it
is
not
a
9
to
5
job.
I
go
for
shoot
whenever
I
want.
In
addition
all
that
I
am
doing
are
my
interests.
However
I
sit
and
watch
English
movies
at
home
or
go
out
with
my
friends
whenever
I
am
free.
Tell
me
frankly
why
you
didn't
ever
try
your
luck
in
films?
Is
it
because
of
the
struggle?
Yes
I
am
frank
about
my
dislike
for
acting.
I
have
no
problems
with
struggle
but
I
don't
feel
that
acting
is
my
cup
of
tea.
Generally
producers
start
running
behind
a
girl
who
becomes
Miss
India?
Did
any
producer
ever
come
to
you?
Like
other
Miss
India's,
I
too
got
several
offers
from
Bollywood
but
after
they
didn't
get
any
response
from
my
side
they
stopped.
The
Miss
Indias
seen
there
are
those
who
responded
to
them.
For
me
ad
films
are
ok
but
commercial
films
are
not
possible.
