Sounia speaks on her serial
Wednesday, April 25, 2007
Sounia Kapur is glad that she has ended up working in a serial and now doing a new one.Sounia will be seen in Sony's 'Jeete Hain Jiske Liiye' in a glamorous role.
How
does
it
feel
to
be
back
on
television
after
a
little
while?
It
feels
nice,
of
course.
But
I
don't
think
I
was
away
from
television.
My
last
serial
was
'Kahiin
to
Hoga'
which
wrapped
up
in
February
and
there
was
only
a
gap
of
a
few
months.
What
had
you
been
doing
in
the
break?
During
the
few
months
that
I
was
free,
I
was
shooting
for
my
Persian
film
and
also
did
a
few
advertisements
on
television.
Were
you
anchoring
stage
shows
abroad?
Is
it
one
of
the
reasons
for
your
staying
away
from
television?
Yes,
I
was
on
a
world
tour
anchoring
stage
shows.
This
also
led
to
being
away
from
television
for
a
bit.
Why
are
you
so
choosy
about
your
roles?
I'm
not
choosy
but
I
like
to
do
good
roles.
I
take
up
roles
that
attract
me
and
the
ones
which
I
can
identify
with.
What
led
you
to
take
up
'Jeete
Hain
Jiske
Liiye'?
There
are
many
reasons
for
it.
I
had
never
worked
with
Diya
and
Tony(Singh)
and
wanted
to
work
with
them.
I
had
also
been
watching
the
serial
from
the
first
day
and
when
I
saw
a
few
episodes,
I
wanted
to
work
in
the
serial.
Moreover,
I
was
also
keen
on
working
with
Renuka
Shahane,
so
as
soon
as
the
role
was
offered
to
me
I
took
it
up.
What
will
be
your
character
like
in
the
serial?
I
will
be
playing
a
supermodel,
who
is
struggling
presently.
She
has
been
a
friend
of
Aman
(Ayub
Khan)for
a
few
years
now
and
now
that
she
finds
Aman
single
and
loaded,
she
wants
to
marry
him.
I
would
not
say
that
she
is
a
negative
character
but
she
can
be
called
an
opportunist
in
life.
Her
ambition
in
life
is
to
marry
a
millionaire.
It
is
the
second
time
you
will
be
working
with
Priya
Wal.
Do
you
share
a
bond
with
her
since
she
played
your
daughter
in
'Remix'?
Yes,
from
the
very
first
day,
I
had
bonded
very
well
with
Priya.
We
are
very
good
friends
and
have
always
been
in
touch.
But
it
is
just
not
with
her.
It
is
with
all
the
actors.
I
have
known
them
for
a
long
time
now
and
it
is
so
much
fun
working
with
them.
I'm
having
a
blast
here.
You
are
mostly
seen
doing
glamorous
roles
recently.
Any
particular
reason
for
the
same?
No,
there
are
no
particular
reasons
for
it.
(Laughs)
I
guess
the
producers
find
me
glamorous
and
so
offer
me
such
roles
and
not
deglamorised
ones.
But
believe
me,
I
look
good
in
braided
hairs
and
bindi
too.
Tell
a
little
about
your
Persian
film?
Yes
the
film
is
named
Panaah
and
is
based
on
the
recent
Afghan
war
and
how
it
changed
the
life
of
people
there.
What
role
are
you
playing
in
the
film?
I'm
playing
an
Afghani
girl
who
is
in
love
with
a
man.
Now
this
man
has
to
leave
her
for
some
reason
and
does
not
come
back.
So,
she
has
lost
him
and
is
all
alone
during
the
war.
Thus
she
seeks
shelter
in
India
and
the
shelter
is
given
to
her
when
she
marries
a
man.
She
gets
married
off
to
a
man
who
would
provide
her
the
much
needed
shelter.
And
let
me
tell
you
this
is
a
deglamorised
role
(Laughs).
Will
you
be
also
looking
out
for
offers
from
Bollywood?
Well,
I
have
not
thought
about
it
as
of
now
but
yes
if
anything
good
comes
my
way,
I
would
certainly
do
it.
Is
the
change
in
the
spelling
of
your
name
in
accordance
with
numerology?
Oh,
I
have
all
kinds
of
spelling
for
my
name.
Some
spell
it
Souniya,
some
spell
it
as
Soniya
but
my
real
spelling
is
Sounia
Kapur,
very
much
in
accordance
with
numerology.
