Zee Astitva Awards is back

After two successful years of honoring women for outstanding contributions in their field of work, Zee TV is back with Zee Astitva Awards 2007 to uncover the woman achievers.

The Jury for Dabur Vatika Zee Astitva Awards this year comprised of some very eminent personalities like Ms. Rajshree Birla, Ms Simone Tata, Ms. Priya Dutt, Ms. Chanda Kochhar (ICICI Bank), Ms. Sangita Jindal, Ms. Sathya Saran, Ms. Pheroza Godrej and Ms. Shreyasi Goenka.

The one aspect that differentiated Zee Astitva Awards from other awards was the “Stellar Achievement Award" which aimed to felicitate the 'everyday" women who have made a mark and contributed to society in their own small way. The award this year went to Smt. Jaya Row from Mumbai for her study and research of Vedanta, Ms. N.Rupa from Chennai, for being the only female race Jockey in India, and Ms. Suniti Yadav from Raipur, Chattisgarh for her contribution in protecting the environment hand in hand with future development.

In a glitzy ceremony in Mumbai, women who had made their mark in different walks of life were felicitated. The life time achievement award went to Kiran Bedi,I.P.S, Ms. Lalita Gupte, Head ICICI and Ms. Leila Seth, Ex chief justice of India.

Corporate India, Bollywood Stars and Telly World came together for this unique award ceremony. Dignitaries like Kumar Mangalam Birla, Prahlad kakkar, Alyque and Rael Padamsee, Neeta Ambani, Sanjay Khan and family, Pradeep Guha, Julius Rebiero, Justice Y.V. Chandrachur among the others were present in support of the Astitva women. Ronit Roy and Roshini Chopra played perfect host of the evening. The show also saw some scintillating performances by the Urmila Matondakar, the sexy Shilpa Shetty and the dashing Zayed khan who paid a tribute to woman.

A special telecast of these awards will take place exclusively on Zee TV on 9th September, 8 pm onwards.
