Channel 9X comes up with four new shows

Channel 9X that made its foray in the Indian television network last year has begun 2008 with a bang. With the onset of the New Year, Channel 9X has presented the audience with four new programs. While one of these is being aired in the late evening slot, the remaining three are being beamed during the afternoons keeping in mind the convenience of the women audience.

Elaborating on the channel's plans and the programs being aired now, Channel 9X founder and head Indrani Mukherjea says, "Keeping in view the interests of all sections of the audience we have been endeavoring to offer programs that suit everyone's tastes. We are launching a new show called 'Dahej' from January 7 in the 8.30 pm slot. In addition, we are beaming three other shows in the 2.00 pm slot. These three shows will be telecast from January 14."

'Dahej' produced under the banner of BAG Films has an impressive star cast comprising Deepshikha, Bhuvnesh, Muskan and Anisha Kapoor. The storyline of the soap narrates the lives of two sisters who come to Mumbai from a small Gujarat village called Dharampur.

The shows to be telecast during afternoons are 'Nilanjana', 'Viranwali' and 'Rasm-E-Rasoi'. While the show will be hosted by the well-known Indian-origin chef in Australia Nikhil Rastogi, it is being produced by Sanjay and Rashmi VIrmani of Nirmaan Multimedia. 'Nilanjana', produced by Binafar Kohli and Sanjay of Edit Two Productions, is based on a true story wherein the beauty of a girl turns out to be a bane for her. The entire serial has been shot in Hamlet village of Madhya Pradesh where the incident is reported to have occurred. While Harsha Khalidkar is playing the title role of Nilanjana, the other artistes of the serial include Atul Srivastav, Nishigandha Vaad, Mrinal Kulkarni, Akshay Anand and Vikramjeet.

'Viranwali' is being produced by Dheeraj Kumar under the banner of Creative Eye. With Punjab as its background, 'Viranwali' is the story of a young girl and her two brothers played by Vikar Shahik, Adesh Choudhry and Sameer Sharma. All the three shows will be telecast at 2.00 pm from Monday to Friday.

In addition to these four shows, Channel 9X will soon telecast a special program on a charity show organized by Smrita Thakrey's Mukti Foundation on AIDS victims. Bollywood personalities like Shah Rukh Khan, Lara Dutta, Udita Goswami, Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan would be seen performing dance items in this show. The show will be telecast on Channel 9X at 8.00 pm on Sunday (January 6).
