Himani left out again in Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar

Despite a perfect performance and appreciation from the judges, Challenger Himani Kapoor was not chosen as the cross over contestant by the Champions last week in Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar. Feeling dejected and victimized, Himani lashed out at the Champions that she deserved a spot among them and although she had jokingly told them that she did not want to be a part of their squad at this stage she had no clue that they would take her comment so seriously. Out of the top three performers, Himani, Toshi and Amit Sana, all six Champions votes were bagged by Amit Sana while Himani and Toshi did not get any votes at all.

It has often been observed by the judges that the Champions have been manipulating their votes in favour of the weaker and less popular singers so as to minimize their risk of being eliminated from the show. Asked to delve on his decision to cast his vote in favour of Amit Sana over Himani, Abhijeet Sawant promptly replied, “Since the next performance is based on the Comedy Theme I feel that a girl (read Himani) will not be able to do enough justice as compared to a boy".
