J D Majethia conferred with Maharathi's title

Hats off to JD Majethia, as the very talented producer and actor, was honoured with the title of Maharathi of Gujarati Community's Awards in a function in Mumbai on 9th March. JD's contribution to the growth of Gujarati cinema cannot be measured and the same applies to the actor's efforts to give a great future to theatre and television.

JD Majethia, on the occasion says, "This award is equivalent to Lifetime achievement award and earlier Mr Paresh Rawal was presented this prestigious title. I sense I'm too young to accept the exalted title as I feel I still have a lot more to contribute before being felicitated with such honorary awards. But nevertheless now, I'm quite over whelmed at this point of time".

The actor cum director has an uncanny knack of portraying the rich Gujarati culture very beautifully in all his serials. Having expanded his work by launching 5 serials in recent months, JD Majethia only knows to aim higher and and spread the essence of Gujarati values to the audience. Here is a man, who stands with his head raised, even in a crowd!!
