Amar Chitra Katha to come on small screen
They bedtime stories of Amar Chitra Katha which brought alive Indian mythology, folklore, epics and history is all set to come alive on television. Amar Chitra Katha (ACK) Media has formed a content partnership with Turner International India to convert the series into television episodes and two films. The deal will cover a 26 episode series and two short films.
Turner
International
will
produce
animated
shows
and
two
films
for
broadcast
on
Cartoon
Network
(CN)
and
Pogo,
the
kids'
channels
from
Turner.
The
first
The
first
film,
called
Tripura:
The
Three
Cities
of
Maya,
will
be
released
in
the
summer
of
2010;
the
second
film,
Sons
of
Rama,
will
be
released
around
Diwali.
Amar
Chitra
Katha
will
be
Turner
International's
35th
animation
title
acquired
in
India.
The compamy believes Amar Chitra Katha which has has entertained generations of Indians will fetch good viewership on television. The company also plans to have unique look on the stories without tampering its basic elements.
