Mandira Bedi, who became a popular face from her first TV show 'Shanti" in Doordarshan, is now happy with her assignments of hosting various shows. The actress, who also appeared as Mona in the long running television serial 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi", has lost interest in doing daily soaps.

Mandira says, “Television shows do not attract me anymore. There were many offers coming on my way but somehow it does not excite me now. People often ask me to listen to the scripts at least but now I rather enjoy hosting that acting." Recently, she was in Delhi with her husband Raj Kaushal for launching the new show 'Thoda Personal" of 92.7 FM.

The actress turned host started her career with 'Shanti" in 1994, where she played the lead role. In 1995, she debuted in Bollywood film with a supporting role in Shahrukh Khan and Kajol starrer blockbuster film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

In her second soap 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi", Mandira showed her evil side by playing a villainous character. Following this, she turned to hosting by taking up the show 'Fame Gurukul" and later 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star".

After hosting these shows, she entered the cricket arena and was seen in the 'Extraa Innings" in the 2007 Cricket World Cup. On her lack of interest in daily soaps, Mandira said, “It got nothing like 'Shanti" to carry forward. I can agree to be a part of the show only when I feel that my participation can add value to it. It must appeal me first".

She added, “Television should be like a mirror to the society. People should get inspiration from the shows. But several shows in today"s television are taking the society backwards. We should move forward and not backwards".
