Catch Assamese-Marathi fusion on Coke StudioMTV

By Kalyani Prasad Keshri

Missing a rare chance to sing on the platform of Coke Studio@MTV is something that one will not do even in their dreams. The same happened with Khagen Gogoi, who got the golden opportunity to share the platform with India's great singers.

Khagen Gogoi, who is also a government official and also a fabulous singer, had to call for a replacement when he learned that the elections in his centre and the shoot for Coke Studio@MTV would clash. Gogoi, the Assamese vocalist, after arranging for a replacement took an unpaid leave, all for the chance to perform on the show.

Gogoi is a Bihu singer and is very good at singing songs that are sung during the festival of Bihu. The singer acquired a passion for singing when he was five years old. Gogoi has travelled all over the world. Tonight on the show, Khagen will share the stage with singer composer Shankar Mahadevan. They will be seen jamming together in a fusion mix of Assamese with Marathi. The show will also feature Shankar Mahadevan singing 'Allah hi Reham' in an all new avatar on Coke Studio@MTV, Friday at 7pm on MTV.
