Emotional Atyachaar gets into the legal battle

By Kalyani Prasad Keshri

Following a plea, the Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued a notice to the information and broadcasting ministry, the home affairs ministry, the chairman of UTV and to the team of the controversial reality show “Emotional Atyachaar," seeking a ban on the show for broadcasting vulgar content on the channel.

The plea was filled by NGO Indraprastha People claiming that Emotional Atyachaar has vulgar contents and has bad impact in the minds of the people. A division of Chief Justice Dipak Mishra and Sanjeev Khanna have asked all the concerned parties to reply to the plea within a time frame of four weeks.

"All the respondents should file their reply by April 7," quoted the bench. The court was hearing a petition seeking the cancellation of Emotional Atyachaar as the content of the show is "vulgar, sends a wrong message to the society, is harming the people at large and mentally disturbs people".
