Veena Malik calls off her engagement

Pakistani actress Veena Malik who was recently seen on Colors reality show Bigg Boss 4 has broken off her engagement with New York based Pakistani businessman Faisal Akbar Khan. Veena told to the Express Tribune newspaper, “I called up Faisal and told him that I can no longer marry him. I told him that I am breaking the engagement as I have to focus on my career. We couldn't develop an understanding and there was no use in dragging this engagement any further."

Is her love for Ashmit Patel the reason for her break up? The actress however, says that the breakup is totally her decision and she has no reason except for her career being a sole reason. When asked about her relationship with actor Ashmit Patel, the actress said, “I have always said he is just my friend. We have a good relationship and that's all there is to it."

Fiance Faisal is a family friend to Maliks. Both of them got engaged in October last year after cricketer Mohammad Asif broke up with Veena. Faisal proposed Veena for marriage for quiet a long time now. However, Bigg Boss has changed everything in Veena's life.

"But I didn't accept. After my break up with Asif, my parents asked me to marry him and I couldn't resist. I gave our relationship time but we couldn't reach an understanding so I amicably called him up and said that I cannot marry him," said the actress.
