Mumbai:
Amitabh
Bachchan's
popular
quiz
show,
Kaun
Banega
Crorepati
6
kickstarted
yesterday
(September
7)
with
great
pomp
and
show.
Kanwar
Surtej
Singh
from
Amritsar
was
the
first
participant
of
season
of
KBC,
and
walked
away
with
Rs
6,40,000.
The
opening
episode
of
this
season's
KBC
was
truly
inspirational
with
host
Amitabh
Bachchan
reciting
a
poem
highlighting
the
power
of
knowledge
-
Na
Roop
Kaam
Aata
Hai,
Na
Jhoot
Kaam
Aata
Hai,
Na
Jaati
Kaam

Special
performance
by
Big

based
on
Salim-Sulaiman
composition
of
Ekla
Cholo
Re
along
with
the
top
four
Indian
Idol
contestants
(Vipul,
Amit,
Devendra
and
Poorvi)
added
fervour
to
the
show.
Then
there
was
the
famous
Shillong
Chamber
Choir
who
sang
a
medley
along
with
Big
Dancer
and
choreographer
Remo
D'Souza's
specially
choreographed
dance
very
interesting.
Kanwar
Surtej
Singh
was
the
first
to
occupy
the
hot
seat
on
Kaun
Banega
Crorepati
and
bagged
Rs
6,40,000.
The
21-year
old
B
Tech
student
was
highly
impressed
by
Amitabh
Bachchan's
presence.
The
audience
in
turn
was
entertained
by
the
charming
young
guy,
who
had
a
great
sense
of
humour.
From
what
we
gather
from
the
first
show,
it's
evident
that
the
makers
of
Kaun
Banega
Crorepati
wish
to
retain
the
charm
and
popularity
of
the
show
by
choosing
not
to
experiment
with
the
essence
of
the
show.
Do
not
miss
Kaun
Banega
Crorepati
tonight.
The
show
will
air
every
weekend
at
8.30
pm
on
Sony
TV.
