Ra.One animator Charu Khandal's first surgery a success

Ra.One animator Charu Khandal, who was hit by a speeding car on Sunday, went through a neck surgery on Thursday. According to the sources the surgery was successfully performed.

Charu was travelling in an auto along with her sister Ritu and friend Goyal, when a drunk car driver rammed into their auto, leaving Charu with multiple fractures and head injuries. Ritu suffered minor injuries, but Goyal's condition is still critical.

Charu won the National Award for special effects in Shahrukh-starrer sci-fi thriller Ra.One.

Shahrukh Khan, who was busy with the shooting of Yash Raj's next film, came to India on Tuesday. After knowing about the accident, he visited the hospital and spent 40 minutes with Charu and her family.

Manoj Gautam, the man who was behind the accident, is out on bail, told the police.
