Aishwarya Rai-Abhishek Bachchan inspire Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain

The influence that Bollywood cinema has had in Hindi serials is known to all. In Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain on Star Plus, after Akshara and Natik (the leading protagonists) have a baby boy, Star TV asks the audience to suggest a name for the baby, just like what Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan did when their daughter was born.

Soon after the birth of their daughter, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan had requested their fans to suggest names for Beti B. Similarly, in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain, channel Star Plus announced a contest wherein viewers were asked to suggest names for the Akshara and Natik's baby boy.

The show suddenly became a rage and the TRP suddenly increased. Over one lakh viewers came ahead with their suggestions for a name for Akshara and Natik's baby boy. Just like how Aishwarya, Abhishek and the entire Bachchan family are keeping the name of Beti B a secret, in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain, the show announced the name of the child only later in a 'maha' episode that was aired later.
