Popular
TV
actor
Ali
Asgar
feels
people
are
yet
to
get
over
the
daily
soaps,
especially
the
saas-bahu
sagas.
Ali
has
been
part
of
daily
soaps
like
Kahaani
Ghar
Ghar
Ki,
Kutumb
among
others.
Off
late
he
is
seen
doing
light-hearted
shows
like
Jeannie
Aur
Juju.
"TV
has
grown
over
a
period
of
time
technologically
and
marketing
wise.
But
I
do
feel
at
script
and
content
level
there
needs
to
be
improvement.
By
this
I
mean
that
audience
is
not
ready
or
open
for
newer
concepts.
At
the
end
of
the
day
people
want
to
watch
saas-bahu
shows," Ali
told.
"As
they
(audience)
relate
or
identify
to
(saas-bahu
shows),
they
can
sympathise.
I
think
people
are
still
not
out
of
those
things
yet.
Our
shows
are
about
India
and
its
culture.
There
are
different
stories
taken
out
from
epics
like
Ramayana,
Mahabharata.
I
don't
follow
any
shows
on
TV,"
he
said.
Ali
played
the
role
of
a
woman
in
the
TV
show
Comedy
Circus
and
is
again
seen
essaying
the
role
of
an
old
woman
in
Comedy
Nights
with
Kapil.
The
show
has
comedian
Kapil
Sharma
at
the
centre
stage.
"I
observe
people
and
do
things.
It
is
not
easy
to
play
woman,
considering
the
clothes
and
make
up
that
one
has
to
wear.
It
was
tough
and
tiring.
But
I
am
sure
I
have
played
woman
gracefully,"
Ali
said.
Though
Ali
has
been
part
of
comedy
shows
earlier,
he
still
finds
it
difficult
to
tickle
the
funny
bone
of
audience.
"Comedy
shows
are
stress
free
for
people.
They
are
a
mode
of
entertainment.
It
is
difficult
to
make
people
laugh
as
there
are
lots
of
expectations.
Today
audience
is
ready
for
comedy
show
and
one
has
to
come
up
with
new
ways
to
make
people
laugh,"
he
added.
Providing
a
distinctive
take
on
everyday
life
of
a
common
man,
the
show
explores
the
story
of
every
household
and
how
the
common
man
is
affected
by
the
simplest
issues
in
life.
Former
Indian
cricketer
Navjot
Singh
Sidhu
also
features
in
Comedy
Nights
With
Kapil,
which
went
on
air
June
22
on
Colors
channel.
