Ankita Lokhande: I Was First Considered For Shahrukh Khan's Happy New Year!

Pavitra Rishta fame actress Ankita Lokhande, who is also currently dating Sushant Singh Rajput was quoted saying that she was the first person considered to act alongside Shahrukh Khan before Deepika Padukone in his upcoming film Happy New Year.

Ankita said that things did not work in her favour as Deepika Padukone was roped in to play the lead actress in the Farah Khan directed film. "I was considered for this role, so it is a good thing. It is unfortunate it couldn't happen. I don't know why things did not work out. I think there is a prejudice against TV actors. I was working on TV, and if I was considered for it is a big thing," told the 28 year old actress.

Directed by choreographer-director Farah Khan, 'Happy New Year' also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Boman Irani in prominent roles along with Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.

The film apparently revolves around a bunch of male friends and how situation forces them to participate in a dance competition. Deepika Padukone will be playing the role of a bar dancer, who will help these friends win the dance trophy.

It was even being said that Shahrukh Khan noticed Ankita Lokhande during one of the award shows and recommended her name to Farah Khan.

Currently, Ankita is playing a double role in TV show Pavitra Rishta, while her beau Sushant Singh Rajput has already struck gold with two hits under his belt.
