August 15th Patriotism Reaches Homes Via TV Today

August 15th, Independence Day, is back bringing everyone home to spend time with their families and watch television shows and feel patriotic for the day.

With everyone staying home, television channels plan to grab their attention as much as possible with as many attractive shows and movies as possible. The Mughal of Indian television brand, Star Network has gone another step further and is airing a 7-hour-long marathon show, Saath Hai Hum Uttarakhand, in all of its channels to help raise funds for the Uttarakhand affected population.

The marathon event which will be telecast from 12 noon to 7 pm will include performances by Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar, Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Anil Kapoor, AR Rahman, Boman Irani, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Pritam, Prasoon Joshi, Mukesh Bhatt and Ayushmann Khurana. Television actors including celebrities from top television shows of the Star network such as Diya Aur Baati Hum, Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara, Saraswatichandra, Savdhaan India, Devon Ke Dev Mahadev and India's Dancing Superstars will also be performing at the do.

Other channels are not long far, they have scheduled pretty good films and programs for the day, like Sony TV will be airing films like Aurangazeb and both the Aashiqui films back to back. The channel is also starting a fresh new show Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara.
