Former VJ, actress Sophiya Haque passes away

Mumbai: Sophiya Haque, Ex-VJ, actress passed away this morning. Well-known celebrities took to Twitter to inform the news. So far, details about her death is not known. However, reports claim that Sophiya was suffering from an acute aliment, which probably could have been cancer.

Speaking about the sudden death of Sophiya Haque, filmmaker Pooja Bhatt tweeted, "Tragic news about Sophiya Haque. One of the most gorgeous women to have walked this planet... Shine on where-ever it is you now are luv...(sic)."

Director Ken Ghosh was shocked and tweeted, "Just heard sad news of the passing away of the live wire ex vj of channel v, sophia haque (sic)."

Sophia Haque, who was a British Asian actress, singer and host became popular in India as a VJ/host on pop-music channels broadcast by India in the 1990s. Sophia even did a lead role in the low-budget comedy film Snip. Unfortunately, the film bombed at the Box Office.
