By Girija Narayan

'Aam Aadmi' has taken the centre stage in both Aamir Khan's Satyamev Jayate on Star Plus as well as Salman Khan's upcoming show Mission Sapne on Colors TV. Whose show will have a better effect on the common man's life will be revealed only after Sallu Bhai's show goes on air.

Aamir Khan's show Satyamev Jayate paved way for meaningful television shows and the next Bollywood star who followed him in making more shows is the Dabangg star Salman Khan. The superstar actor, who was in news recently for having declared that he will no longer host the controversial reality show Bigg Boss is now part of a more meaningful show, Mission Sapne.

Mission Sapne has the Bollywood celebrities taking up comomon man's job for a day, making a living, doing the work a common man does in day. Salman Khan too took up the role of a barber for a day, earning his living giving haircuts.

"I am very happy Salman is doing this kind of a show. I wish more people from industry come and support it (social issues)," stated Aamir Khan.

Other celebs like Ranbir Kapoor, Siddharth Malhotra, Karan Johar and Mikha Singh took up the jobs of vada pav seller, vegetable vender, photographer and chaiwala, respectively.

When Aamir's show throws light on serious social issues, like female foeticide, child sexual abuse, dowry system, honour killing and so on, Salman Khan's Mission Sapne showcases the struggle the common man is facing trying to make ends meet currently in India.

Both the shows, however, have one mission. A mission to bring the struggles of an 'aam aadmi' to the forefront. Let's wait and watch how the shows succeed in getting their message accross.
