Bollywood For TV Actors Not Actresses! Drashti, Gauhar, Divyanka, Sanaya, Paridhi...

The current trend is seeing TV actors getting interesting roles moving on to do solo films too! But somewhere TV actresses who are the souls of their television shows, do not get such lucrative offers. Where TV actors get film offers, TV actresses who are equally talented do not receive such proposals.

Current successful TV actresses like Dhrashti Dhami, Paridhi Sharma, Divyanka Tripathi and Sanaya Irani are doing great in their respectful serials ‘Madhubala', 'Jodha Akbar', 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' and ‘Rangrasiya' but haven't got an opportunity to show their talent on the silver screen. Sanaya, in fact has done a small cameo in the film ‘Fanaa'. Dhrashti, after winning a reality show on television, was apparently being considered for the lead role opposite Ajay Devgan for a film but was later replaced by Shraddha Kapoor. Both the TV actresses have good screen presence and potential to hit the big screen of Bollywood.

Gauahar Khan has been a part of many reality shows and has done a few Bollywood films. She has been appreciated in her small yet impressive roles. Gauahar Khan seems to have good prospects in the future maybe not in a lead but small important roles.

TV actress Deepika Singh seen in the lead role on ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum' is a talented actress but could stand no chance in front of the current glamorous actresses in the Bollywood industry. Ankita Lokhande who is a popular face on TV with her serial ‘Pavitra Rishta' was apparently offered the lead female role in ‘Happy New Year' but later for reasons unknown she was replaced by Deepika Padukone. Ankita has good screen presence and she could prove to be a good actress on the big screen too.

Surbhi Jyoti, the newbie has proved her mettle in her serial ‘Qubool Hai'. But with only talent, could she move the next step to Bollywood? Her Girl-next-door looks may not be able to secure her lead roles but perhaps supporting roles in Bollywood.

Only time will tell whether we will get to see Telly's leading ladies in Bollywood. On the other hand, there is a beeline of TV actors taking up some interesting projects as a hero or side-kicks!
