As many would have anticipated, Deana Uppal was eliminated from Colors TV's Khatron Ke Khiladi 5 this Sunday, in Week 8 of the show. The actress, whose performance was one of the poorest on Saturday, slipped into the elimination round along with Gurmeet Choudhary, Gauhar Khan, Rajneesh Duggal, Nikitan Dheer and Ranvir Shorey.
In Saturday's episode of KKK 5, Deana was chosen to fight it out in the second stunt, which involved participants getting electrocuted and shot with electric hooks as they tried to unlock a series of locks and finally, free the Khatron Ke Khiladi 5 flag. The former Miss India-UK winner unlocked the first two flags very quickly, but lost a lot of time in the third and final unlocking.
In Sunday's elimination rounds, Deana contested with Rajneesh Duggal as her partner. In the first stunt, the duo managed quite well, with her, enjoying the company of some crazy frogs. But in the second stunt, wherein Deana had to play navigator to her blindfolded partner, she totally lost her cool. A panicky Deana Uppal kept shouting and repeating herself, annoying Rajneesh. The couple took the most time in performing the stunt, thus pitting them against each other in the final round. In their final battle to stay on Khatron Ke Khiladi 5, Deana and Rajneesh were individually dragged by a chopper airplane across a field in the midst of various obstacles, with them just holding onto a bar. While Rajneesh held onto it for too long, Deana lost grip of the handle and let go a little too early, making her lose the challenge by a very narrow margin.
Moreover, Deana was once again, not supported by a majority of her co-contestants, when she was chosen to perform first in the last stunt, much to her disadvantage. Deana was evidently disappointed and forlorn, though she denied it. She courteously attributed her unpopularity and lack of camaraderie with the others to her late entry on the show.
The 26-year old model enjoyed a brief period of 4 weeks on Khatron Ke Khiladi 5 and took her eviction from the show in her stride, after successfully conquering her many phobias. Way to go Deana!
