Actress
Amrita
Prakash,
best
known
for
playing
Amrita
Rao's
sister
in
'Vivah',
says
she
enjoys
working
on
the
small
screen
as
the
quality
of
shows
have
improved
and
they
tell
interesting
stories.
"TV
is
going
back
to
being
experimental
like
in
the
late
'90s
and
early
2000s
when
there
were
shows
like
'Rishtey'
and
'Star
Bestsellers'.
The
shows
are
being
shot
like
short
films...
entire
series
finishes
in
one
hour," Amrita
told.
Amrita
has
been
part
of
several
hit
daily
soaps
like
'Smriti',
'Saat
Phere',
'Ye
Meri
Life
Hai'
among
others
and
off
late
she
is
doing
TV
series
like
'Savdhaan
India',
'Yeh
Hai
Aashiqui'
and
'Gumraah'.
"The
daily
soaps
did
become
very
popular
as
I
think
it
was
the
demand
of
the
audience.
But
now
again
we
are
seeing
a
great
influx
of
shows
in
shorter
format,
which
are
backed
by
good
scripts
and
tell
a
great
story,"
she
added.
Besides
TV,
the
27-year-old
actress,
who
entered
the
entertainment
industry
as
a
child,
has
been
part
of
films
like
'Tum
Bin',
'Koi
Mere
Dil
Mein
Hai',
'Vivaah' among
others.
She
was
last
seen
on
the
big
screen
in
2010
film
'We
Are
Family',
in
which
she
had
a
guest
appearance.
When
asked
what
has
kept
her
away
from
films,
Amrita
said,
"I
have
done
films
in
which
I
have
had
similar
roles.
For
a
while
I
had
a
fear
that
I
was
getting
typecast
as
I
was
offered
the
same
kind
of
roles.
I
had
said
no
to
several
projects
because
of
that
and
I
don't
know
whether
it
was
a
good
decision
or
bad."
The
actress
feels
she
is
ready
to
move
away
from
doing
supporting
roles
and
play
lead
characters
in
films.
"I
am
in
talks
for
a
film
and
that
is
all
I
can
say
right
now
as
nothing
is
finalised
yet.
I
feel
that
I
have
come
to
an
age
where
I
am
ready
to
play
lead
roles
in
films
and
take
responsibility
of
a
film.
I
can
only
hope
for
the
best
at
the
moment,"
she
said.
Amrita
will
be
seen
in
the
next
episode
of
'Love
By
Chance' on
Bindass
channel,
which
has
been
directed
by
'Dasvidaniya'
helmer
Shashant
Shah.
"The
reason
I
said
yes
is
because
I
am
not
ready
to
commit
myself
to
a
long
running
show
at
present.
I
think
these
shows
are
prefect
as
it
is
not
only
less
time
consuming
but
also
gives
you
a
chance
to
work
with
different
people,"
she
said.
The
episode
will
air
tonight.
