Jodha Akbar: Salim Slaps Murad, Akbar Thinks Of Stringent Punishment

Jodha Akbar's April 9th episode: Murad sends message to Salim to have discussion over some issues of the state. Salim replies that he is ‘busy’, while he is actually spending time with Anarkali. Murad becomes angry and comes to the dance bar straight, being accompanied by Daniyal.

Murad confronts Salim; Anarkali tells Murad that Salim is presently not in the state of having a peaceful discussion. Murad takes it as her audacity. He insults Anarkali saying that servants should not be encouraged to forget their restrictions; Salim loses control over his anger and slaps Murad hard.

Akbar says that he will do the vrat puja for Jodha. Jodha comes and joins him soon. Jodha tells him that she can continue her worship even after becoming a Muslim, like he does.

Akbar says that this is not a question of religion, but of a person’s integrity. While Jodha has performed all duties of a wife and a Queen in a more than perfect manner, no one can call her relationship with the King illegitimate. He must teach a lesson to the King of Iran, says the Emperor of India.

Soon they receive the news of Salim’s indecent behavior with the Emperor-to-be. Jodha requests Akbar to deal with the issue with patience. She tells him to talk with Salim privately. Akbar ignores her and calls Salim to the court.

Akbar asks for explanations from both the princes. He tells Salim that he has committed a serious crime by slapping the would-be Emperor and he must apologize. Salim asks what would happen if he refuses doing so. Akbar is stunned at this extreme height of audacity.
