Jodha Akbar: Divorce Was A Dram, Says Akbar

Jodha Akbar's May 11th episode: The Moulavi starts the procedure of divorce and declares the amount of alimony for Jodha. The Queen says that she is not happy with the amount and she would like to take more valuables. Akbar brings more gold coins, gold bars and offers them to Jodha.

Still Jodha says that she is not pleased. Hamida keeps her earrings on the tray of gold coins. Jodha picks up the earrings and says that now she has got the most valuable thing and she is ready to accept the divorce. Hamida feels bad; when Jodha is to leave the court, Hamida stops her.

Hamida tells Jalal that she will not allow him to divorce Jodha. Akbar calls a private family meeting and asks Hamida what is the reason behind her support for Jodha. Hamida admits that it was she who compelled Jodha for the conversion.

Akbar says that he would like to beg pardon from everyone as he actually never intended to divorce the Queen. He just wanted to extract the truth from his mother, as he knew very well that Jodha did not go for the conversion by her own choice.

Hamida begs pardon from Jodha. Jodha says that a mother should never feel guilty before a daughter. Jodha leaves the hall when Akbar apologizes to her. The Emperor meets her privately; she says that she will never pardon him for this insult. Akbar says that he is ready to obey her orders if she forgives him. Jodha tells him never to think of divorce again!
