Lightman Dies On The Set Of Colors TV’s Show Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat

It was sad day (Thursday) for Colors TV's show Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat members as a lightman Gautam Sangpriya died on the sets.

According to a leading daily, Gautam was working on a catwalk (tarafa), when he suffered from electric shock. He was immediately taken to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Safety measures adopted by the industry is in the question now.

This incident had created a rift between the workers and production houses. For the workers who have been working on great height, Film Studio Setting & Allied Mazdoor Union (FSS&AMU) has been pressing the industry for harness belts. The union has been requesting the producers to limit the timings of the workers to about 12 hours a day.

The Secretary of FSS&AMU, Gangeshwar Shrivastava said to a leading daily that if such incidents happen at ND Studio, Karjat, on a regular basis, then they will be forced to ask their workers not to work there.

Actor Sachin Verma was quoted by Tellychakkar as saying, "The unfortunate incident left all of us in shock. Immediately after the accident he was rushed to the nearby Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Karjat but was declared death on arrival. The shooting was halt for the day and everyone from the set went to the hospital. My sympathies are with his family."

The CEO of Contiloe was quoted by a leading daily, "It is really unfortunate that we lost one of our crew member last evening. Our sympathies lie with his family for this unsurmountable loss."
