Ekta Kapoor's new show Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi was aired on Colors TV a year back from now. May be then the stars and even the makers wouldn't have known that this show will become so popular that audiences are so eager to see their lead pair - Ishaani and Ranveer together.

Let's take you into flash back... MATSH is the story of a servant, Ranveer played by Shakti Arora and his beautiful childhood love Ishaani (Radhika Madan), who is the daughter of a rich businessman.

Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi: Ishaani-Ranveer's Haldi Ceremony!

RV plays the matchmaker between Ishaani, and a spoiled brat Chirag, whom she loves madly and is the person her family wants her to get married to. But later RV gets to know that Chirag is a cheater and tries to save Ishaani from him.

Chirag uses Ishaani's sister Disha to trap RV. She accuses him of assaulting her in front of whole family saying he is taking revenge on her as his love Ishaani is marrying Chirag, in front of whole family.

RV confesses his love for Ishaani and he is kicked out of the house. Then comes a leap where he will be seen as rich and Ishaani's family will lose everything and come on streets. This is when RV will marry Ishaani instead of Ritika, who sacrifices her love.

Chirag will later trap Ritika who is about to get married to Ishaani's brother Sharman. Ritika gets pregnant, kills Chirag and Falguni, and Ishaani takes all blame, goes to jail gets death sentence. Now that Ishaani is back, Shikar will support her and get her out of jail and is all set to get married.

MATSH's First Name Was...

Originally, Ekta had planned to name the soap Kyunki Tum Hi Ho, getting inspired from the lyrics of the Aashiqui 2 chartbuster.

Old Title Changed!

Since the title was registered with another producer, the name was changed.

Paridhi Was Considered

Did you know Paridhi Sharma was considered to play the parallel lead?

Aashiqui 2 Song

Ekta liked the Aashiqui 2 song so much that she decided to get the rights of the tune. She acquitted just the tune and not the lyrics.

Ekta Kapoor Loved Aashiqui 2 Song

Ekta was quoted as saying by a leading daily, "I'm in love with the title track of Aashiqui 2. The song has a fabulous connect with the audience. Let's hope it works for the show as well."

Radhika Madan

Radhika Madan, the lead role, who plays the role of Ishaani, was noticed first by Ekta Kapoor. She had seen one of her performances and called her to Mumbai to audition.

Radhika Surprised

Radhika had acted before, she didn't think she would be selected. But was surprised as she was told that she bagged the role.

Radhika Loves Dancing

Radhika has no background in acting. She wanted to become a choreographer as she is interested in dance. But she thinks she was lucky to get the role.

Shakti Arora

Shakti Arora, who plays the role of Ranveer, says it is dream role, and he is glad to be launched as the main lead by Balaji.

Arjun Bijlani was famous for his role on SAB TV's Left Right Left. Arjun had not done TV in the past 8-9 months because of his newborn baby. So he found it a fun to be back, that too with a Balaji show!
