On
July
18th,
Bigg
Boss
and
Nach
Baliye
7
contestant
Sangram
Singh
made
India
proud
by
winning
the
World
Wrestling
Professionals
(WWP)
Commonwealth
Wrestling
Heavyweight
Championship,
which
was
held
in
Nelson
Mandela
Bay,
Port
Elizabeth,
South
Africa.
Sangram
Singh
made
a
comeback
with
this
wrestling
championship
after
three
years.
He
defeated
Canadian
wrestler
Joe
Legend.
He
had
to
sign
the
'Last
Man
Standing'
contract,
in
other
words,
a
death
contract.
As
this
contract
had
conditions
that
if
in
case,
during
the
match,
any
unfortunate
event
including
death
occurred,
the
organisers
will
not
be
responsible.

During
the
match,
it
is
even
reported
that
Sangram
suffocated
to
death
as
his
opponent
was
on
top
of
him
for
over
10
minutes.
After
lot
of
hard
work,
Sangram
emerged
as
a
winner.
With
this
victory,
Sangram
has
become
the
first
Indian
to
win
such
an
honour
at
an
international
level.
In
the
recent
interview
to
a
leading
daily,
Sangram
thanked
his
coach
Pandit
Satvirji,
family
and
friends
for
their
support.
He
was
quoted
as
saying
by
the
leading
daily,
"This
was
a
remarkable
moment
for
me
and
a
matter
of
great
honour
for
the
nation
that
had
pinned
all
its
hopes
on
me.
Sangram
added,
"I
have
put
in
a
lot
of
hard
work
and
training
and
it
gives
me
pride
that
all
these
days
of
toiling
and
sweating
it
out
during
the
practice
sessions
have
finally
paid
off."
It
has
to
be
recalled
that
Sangram
and
his
beau
Payal
Rohatgi
got
eliminated
from
Nach
Baliye
7
as
they
couldn't
impress
the
judges,
but
real
reason
behind
the
couple's
elimination
was
Sangram's
wrestling
match
and
he
had
to
then
complete
some
formalities
that
involved
paper
work.
Sangram's
first
priority
has
always
been
wresting.
Well,
now
we
can
say
Sangram
had
made
a
right
choice.
And
we
congratulate
the
hero
for
the
victory.
