It is King Khan - Shahrukh Khan's 50th birthday today (2nd November). He celebrated his birthday by cutting the cake with his family. Gauri Khan also shared the picture in which SRK is seen cutting the cake with his wife and children (Aryan and Suhana).

Many stars began their career through Television. Though many tried their hands at Bollywood after their stint on television, only few succeeded. And the one who has achieved the biggest, is none other than the King Khan.

Without a Godfather, or acting genes in the family, SRK came to Mumbai with a dream. He did not have a big plan then, he just wanted to stay in Mumbai for an year and act in four films before going back to Delhi.

SRK is a hardworking and passionate person. He thinks sleeping more is waste of time, he said once in a chat show, "You can't waste the moments and have one lifetime and pack in lots of stuff in it."

The actor's achievement in entertainment industry is incredible - be it TV or Bollywood.

Khan started his career with TV. He appeared in many serials in the late 1980s. Later he made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana.

Though Lekh Tandon's Dil Dariya was SRK's first TV serial, due to the delay in production works, Aziz Mirza's Fauji featured first in TV, which earned him much mass recognition.

Lekh Tandon met SRK when the latter had actually come to drop another girl. Through the girl he approached him for the serial and SRK agreed.

SRK appeared in three television serials - Fauji, Circus and Dil Dariya. He also did a small role in made-for-television English-language film, In Which Annie Gives it Those Ones.
