We are back with Best Of 2016 again! 2017 is just a few days away. This year, the world of television was radical in giving us an insight into different shows. As this year is coming to end, we would like to revisit the best shows of televsion which ruled the hearts of many.

While many shows which had topped the TRP charts last year, have been in limelight this year too. Many shows debuted on television and a lot many of them have gone off-air. Many shows made it to the TRP charts this year and many of them have won the charts! Overall, this year proved to be a great year for the television.

Sony's Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi is surely winning accolades for its fresh heart-warming story and performances of the lead actors Shaheer Sheikh, Erica Fernandes and Supriya Pilgaonkar. The popular TV show is in news for throing a light upon a mother-son relationship and also for the electrifying on-screen chemistry of its lead pair, Shaheer and Erica Sonakshi. The show recently won the 'Best Show' award at the AVTA awards.

Ek Duje Ke Vaaste

Ek Duje Ke Vaaste

Starring Namik Paul and Nikita Dutta in leading roles, Ek Duje Ke Vaaste was a tale of strong friendship. It revovled around two friends Shravan (Namik) and Suman (Nikita), who got separated in childhood. They meet years later and amidst all the misunderstandings, they fall in love. The show became a superhit, but was pulled off recently by the channel. Fans are demanding season 2 of the popular show.

Bahu Hamari Rajni_Kant

Amidst all the saas bahu dramas, the sitcom series Bahu Hamari Rajni_Kant came as a breath of fresh air and instantly clicked with the audiences. The show revloves around Rajni (Riddhima Pandit) as the super humanoid robot trying to meet her mother-in-law's expectations. The male lead, Karan V Grover parted ways with the show recently and was replced by Raqesh Vashisth.

Star Plus' trending soap Ishqbaaz revolves around three Oberoi brothers Shivaay, Rudra and Omkara, who are poles apart, yet they love each other and can go to any extent to bring a smile on each other's faces. This TV show comes across as a rare instance wherein the bromance has taken TV by storm. Also, the chemistry between Shivaay and Anika is one of the major highlights of the show.

Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki

Colors' popular show, Shakti starring Rubina Dialak and Vivian Dsena is a trendsetter. It revolves around Saumya (Rubina), who is a transgender. The show focuses on the trials and tribulations faced by a transgender. Not only that, the show is in the news for showcasing a subtle love story of Saumya and Harman (Vivian).

Beyhadh

Beyhadh

Sony's romantic thriller Beyhadh, is one of a kind in the world of television. The story is intrigued and is receiving good response from the audiences so far. Jennifer Winger is playing the role of Maya. She is seen playing a negative role for the first time. Arjun (Kushal) and Saanjh's (Aneri) deep friendship is one of the major highlights of the show.

Naamkaran, helmed by Mahesh Bhatt deals with the young girl, Avni (Arsheen Namdaar) who lives with her single mother Asha. Avni is an ilegitimate child, whose father refuses to accept her. The is dealt from Avni's perspective. Avni is a pillar of strength to her mother, Asha. Arsheen is being lauded for her role as Avni.

The show revolved around two half-sisters, Swara (Helly Shah) and Ragini (Tejaswini Wayangankar) who try to keep their family united, no matter what. The show was highly appreciated for its story line and exploring different shades of relationship between the two sisters. Apart from that, the chemistry between the leads Swara-Sanskar and Ragini-Laksh was also liked by the audiences.

Yeh Hai Mohabbatein

Yeh Hai Mohabbatein

One of the Star Plus' longest running soaps, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein continues to entertain the audiences and have constantly made it to the top 10 this year as well. The show recently completed 1000 episodes. Apart from Raman and Ishita's love story, the show even focused on Adi and Aliya's love track, which was liked by one and all. The show took two leaps this year. The recently concluded Australia track also fetched good numbers for the show.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

Star Plus' longest running show is in news for various reasons. Firstly, the male lead Karan Mehra aka Naitik quit the show. Recently, Hina Khan aka Akshara also quit the show. Naira and Kartik's love story is garnering all the limelight. The show is expected to showcase some major twists in the upcoming twists.

This Star Plus' latest offering has managed to woo all of us with its unique story. Arjun Bijlani and Drashti Dhami's fresh pairing has created quite a buzz. The show has extensively been shot across Austria and is a refreshing love story of two mature individuals, humorous and kind-hearted Raghav (Arjun) and a strong and independent Naina (Drashti) who are brought together by coincidences.

This SAB TV's sitcom series has been entertaining the audiences from the last few years. The show is based on the life of the residents in Gokuldham, a residential society in Mumbai. Let it break boundaries and make more people laugh.

Well, the list is not over yet! The other television shows which have garnered limelight are shows such as Kasam, Siya ke Ram, Jaana Na Dil Se Door and Prisoners of War (POW) for their unique storyline and power-packed performances.

All in all, the shows were successful in providing wholesome entertainment for its viewers. We are eagerly waiting for 2017. The coming year has a lot of promising projects for television.
