Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actress Divyanka Tripathi was all excited to celebrate her first Diwali, post marriage with Vivek Dahiya. Going by the pictures at the actors' social media accounts, the newly-wed couple first enjoyed attending Diwali bashes and later they head towards Chandigarh to celebrate the festival with their family.

While sharing her Diwali plans, the actress had got nostalgic. In an interview, she was quoted as saying, "In Bhopal, every year we used to get together at our grandparents' house to celebrate Diwali. Our Baauji, Rtd DSP Purnanand Tripathi (dadaji) who was also locally known as 'Pandit ji' used to pray for hours and around 30 of us, kids and elders, would stand in a queue to take prasad and money from him."
She added, "After that it was complete masti, as we would have dinner around the pool and burst fireworks which were the main attraction for us kids. This would go on until 5 in the morning!"
The actress further added, "Last Diwali he (Divyanka's Dadaji) told me to increase the number of family members and I'm married today. While Bauji isn't here with us today, he has left us with fond memories for a life time."
Divyanka was also quoted by a leading daily as saying, "I am buying only Indian-made products this Diwali. I buy things from the local artisans. I am also checking labels to be doubly sure of it. I might get costlier items in the bargain, but I know they'll last longer. My entire family is making sweets at home. We are determined on having an unadulterated, safe and swadesi Diwali this year!"
