Diya Aur Bati Hum: Is Kanika Maheswari Calling It Quits?

Diya Aur Baati Hum actress Kanika Maheshwari, better known as Meenakshi Bhabhi is reportedly planning to quit the show.

She rose to fame with her role of 'Meenakshi' and is known for her acting skills in the show for which she has been receiving accolades.

She has also won many awards for her role including Star Parivaar Award, Indian Telly Award and Zee Gold Award under 'Best Actress in a negative role' category for her portrayal of negative character in the show.

After associating with the show for over five years, it is sad that the actress is planning to quit the show, as she wants to explore different opportunities. Also, she feels that her character doesn't have much to offer,as it is essentially revolving around the central characters now.

A source quoted by TOI said, " Kanika is planning to quit the show. However, she is unable to do so, as she has signed an exclusive contract with the channel. She has shared her concerns with the production team. She also feels that she has not been utilised properly on the show. If the exclusivity clause is not nullified, she will quit the show."

However, when contacted Kanika, she said, " It is still under discussion."

Nevertheless, if she quits, we will definitely miss our Meenakshi Bhabhi on the show.
