We are sure that the news of your favourite Star Plus' show, Diya Aur Baati Hum, going off-air in August would have definitely disappointed you. But, as soon as the news of its extension came, all you fans rejoiced, isn't it?

That's not all. There is one more good news for all you fans out there! Well, there are chances that, Diya Aur Baati Hum might come back with a season 2! Excited, right?

There has been no official announcement regarding the same, but, as per the reports, the talks are going on.

The production house (Shashi Sumeet Productions) is working out the details with the channel, for season 2, but it's still in the preliminary stages.

Considering the fact that the show is a trendsetter and has worked wonders for the channel by topping the TRP charts since its launch in the year August 2011, the channel might take a positive decision.

Over the years, the show has garnered appreciation from its fans and has a huge fan base. The show deals with the struggle of Sandhya (Deepika Singh) to become an IPS officer, is thoroughly inspirational.

By crossing the hurdles all along her path, and receiving constant support from her husband Sooraj (Anas Rashid) throughout her journey, Sandhya chases her dreams and finally converts it into reality.

Sadly, this ideal couple won't be a part of season 2! It is shocking, but true.

The makers are almost certain on replacing Deepika and Anas with new leads, but, a few prime characters from the ongoing series might be a part of the next season as well.
