Star
Plus's
popular
daily
soap
Diya
Aur
Baati
Hum
might
go
off
air
soon.
The
show,
starring
Deepika
Singh
and
Anas
Rashid
began
in
the
year
2011.
Soon,
it
became
the
top
show
of
the
channel
and
the
most
watched
show
on
Indian
Television
because
of
its
unique
concept
and
performances
of
the
lead
actors.
Both
the
lead
actors
were
newcomers,
but
surprisingly,
both
of
them
managed
to
garner
limelight
for
their
power-packed
performances.
The
characters
Sandhya,
Sooraj
and
Bhabho
became
household
names
within
no
time.
It
is
being
said
that
the
show
will
reportedly
go
off
air
due
to
the
unsteady
ratings.
The
show
which
ruled
the
TRP
charts,
all
these
years
has
drastically
declined
in
the
past
few
months.
Also,
the
lead
pair
Deepika
Singh
and
Anas
Rashid
are
not
on
good
terms.
As
per
the
reports,
their
tantrums
and
the
show's
ratings
are
forcing
the
makers
to
shut
down
the
show.
Last
year,
Deepika
had
slapped
Anas
for
his
inappropriate
behaviour
while
they
were
shooting
and
it
was
only
after
CINTAA
intervened,
that
the
matter
was
resolved.
Shashi
Mittal,
producer
of
the
show,
admits
that
the
ratings
of
the
show
have
fluctuated,
but
it
still
is
one
of
the
top
shows.
She
told
the
TOI,
"It's
like
a
family.
Jaise
family
mein
paanch
saal
saath
rehne
mein
issues
hote
hain
waise
hi
yahaan
par
bhi
chhote-mote
issues
hote
hain.
There
is
nobody
who
is
throwing
tantrums."
She
also
adds,
"If
the
show
goes
off
air,
it's
all
because
of
ratings.
Even
though
there
have
been
fluctuations
in
the
ratings,
our
show
continues
to
be
in
the
top
10
shows.
I
haven't
received
any
official
intimation
from
the
channel.
We
have
been
hearing
news
about
the
show
going
off
air
for
the
last
one
year."
A
source
also
told
TOI
that
a
new
show
on
the
life
of
film-maker
Mahesh
Bhatt
might
be
replacing
this
show.
